Large-scale topography of the north Tibetan ranges as a proxy for contrasted crustal-scale deformation modes

Forming the northern margin of Cenozoic Himalayan–Tibetan orogen, area surrounding Qaidam Basin is a key region to study mechanisms that govern long-term evolution intracontinental orogenic processes. Indeed, tectonic deformation in this involves newly formed and inherited crustal lithospheric structures, partition between horizontal vertical movements, strong influence from external factors such as climate erosion. This proposes description topography structure north Tibet ranges an insight into their characteristics.
